Embibe offers unlimited practice for free to assist students in their preparation for various competitive exams. Practice can help you brush up all important and weak concepts, to manage time and to boost your confidence as you work on your exam taking skills.
Step-wise Guide To Understand How To Practice On Embibe
Follow the steps as under to practice on Embibe:
- Step 1: Log on to Embibe. If you are a first-time user, you will see the screen as below. Click on "Search Now" to go to the search page.
Hereafter, you will be directed to the search page when you log on to Embibe. It is recommended to register or log in to make the best use of Embibe.
- Step 2: Type in the name of the chapter that you want to practice in the search field. As you start typing, the names of the frequently searched and relevant chapters and concepts will appear all across the screen as shown below:
- Step 3: Click on the name of the particular chapter or concept shown on the screen that you want to practice and go to the search result page which will give you an overview of the chapter or concept.
- Step 4: Click on "Learn more" as shown below to get access to the complete resources for that chapter or concept.
- Scroll down to the section that provides options to practice various types of questions from that chapter or concept, like important questions, previous year questions, questions rankers got wrong, etc. Click on "Practice" and start solving questions.
You can also unlock various score improvement packs recommended in this section and jump ahead in your preparation.
Click on the 'Start Practice' button from the search page (as shown in the image below).
You will be directed to the practice result page.
From here, you can click on 'Practice' as shown in the image below to start practicing all questions. You can also select the subject, unit and chapter that you want to practice from the left side of the screen.
Clicking on 'Change your goal' from the top right corner will open the following screen:
From here you can change your goal and you will be directed to the relevant practice result page for that particular goal.
Features Of Embibe's Practice Platform
Embibe's Practice platform looks like this:
The following are the unique features of Embibe's Practice platform:
Once you select an answer, you can click on "Check" and see your attempt effectiveness.
You can see whether your attempt was a Perfect Attempt, Wasted Attempt, Overtime Correct Attempt or Overtime Incorrect Attempt (as shown below).
Just below the attempt effectiveness you will also get to see what percentage of the total students who attempted this question got it correct. This will give you an idea about where you are standing in terms of your preparation.
For every Perfect Attempt while practicing on Embibe, you earn Embiums, which can be used to unlock various score improvement packs and features on Embibe. You can see the number of Embiums you have earned or lost for every attempt just beside the attempt effectiveness of that question.
Note: Clicking on the 'Continue' in the bottom right corner of the question card will take you to the next question.
Detailed Solution & Explanation
As you can see in the above image, Embibe provides solution for every question. You will get an explanation for the question and a list of the key concepts asked. Clicking on the name of the concept will take you to the concept page for that particular concept where you can revise it. You can also watch video solutions for difficult questions.
Time Spent Per Question
On the top right corner of the question card (shown in the image below), you can see how much time you are spending on that particular question. You can track and learn to control the amount of time you are spending on each question.
Just beside the Time Spent widget, you can see the bookmark button. With this, you can mark the questions that you find difficult so that you can visit them later and revise.
On the left side of the bookmark button, you can see the number of Silver Embiums earned by you. Note that 1000 Silver Embiums = 1 Gold Embium.
Report An Error
If you think that there is an error in the question, for example, if wrong options are provided or the solution is not correct, you can report it.
Click on the 'Report Error' button as shown in the image above. This will open the following screen:
From here you check the relevant box and provide the necessary information. Then all you have to do is click on the 'Submit' button and the error will be reported. Our academic experts will then review the question and make the necessary changes, if any.
As shown in the image below, on the right side of the screen, you can see the Session Summary which is basically the Attempt Effectiveness of all questions you attempted during that practice session. You can click on the attempt effectiveness icon for each of these questions and revisit them.
Just below the Session Summary, you can see your Effort Rating. The Effort Rating, expressed in percentage, is calculated based on the time you spent answering questions correctly, reviewing solutions, and watching the related videos. Basically, it is an indication of how much effort you are putting into your preparation.
All through your practice session, your very own Embibe Guide will guide and motivate you. It will provide you with tips, give real-time feedback, and suggest practice packs based on your performance.
You can also check the concepts related to a question by clicking on the green 'Knowledge Graph' button on the left side of the Session Summary (shown in the above image). This will open a screen like this where you can see the different concepts related to that question:
You can click on the name of the concept yo visit the concept page and revise it.
Detailed Session Summary
If you want to end the session, just click on the 'End Session' button from the top right corner of the screen (as shown in the image below).
This will lead you to the detailed session summary page. Here you will be able to see:
- Number of Perfect Attempts, Wasted Attempts, Overtime Correct Attempts, Overtime Incorrect Attempts, Too Fast Correct and Incorrect Attempts.
- Question-wise Attempt Effectiveness (left side of the screen)
- Number of Embiums Earned
- Number of Knowledge Graphs Visited
- Number of Question Sets Solved
- Your Strength
- Your Behaviour Meter
- Skills Acquired
- Recommended Packs
On the bottom right corner, you will see two buttons. Click on 'End Session' to end the practice session. Otherwise, click on 'Continue' to resume practice.
