Seat allotment to MBBS and BDS courses based on NEET score takes place in two phases:
- All India Quota Counseling
- State Quota Counseling
The procedure to apply for these two counselings are explained below:
All India Quota (AIQ) Counseling
15 percent of the total seats in medical and dental colleges in India are reserved for AIQ. There are 3521 MBBS seats and 299 BDS seats under AIQ. Counseling procedure for AIQ will be conducted in two rounds. The counseling process involves the following four steps:
- Online Registration
- Choice Filling and Locking
- Result Declaration
- Reporting at the Allocated College
State Quota Counseling
Vacant seats from the AIQ counseling as well as the remaining 85 percent of the seats are to be filled up by centralized State Quota Counseling.
In order to apply for medical colleges under State Quota Counseling, candidates must visit the respective state's official websites for counseling and get themselves registered.
